Peter Candelora, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon working closely with patients at Medical Marijuana Doctors of Louisiana in and around Metairie, Louisiana. He specializes in joint arthroplasty, including minimally invasive procedures for both hip and knee replacements.
Dr. Candelora started his medical career in his home state of Pennsylvania, earning a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in biology at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. After graduation, he was accepted to the prestigious Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, to study medicine.
Once completing medical school, Dr. Candelora remained at Tulane for his residency in orthopedic surgery. He then completed specialty training at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) affiliated Rancho Los Amigos Hospital in Los Angeles. Dr. Candelora then completed additional education in sports medicine at Hughston Sports Medicine Clinic in Columbus, Georgia.
Dr. Candelora is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is a member of the Florida Orthopedic Association, the Florida Medical Society, the Pasco Medical Society, the Hughston Society, and Tulane’s Caldwell Society.
Dr. Candelora conducts evaluations for medical marijuana prescriptions to be picked up at a pharmacy near you. Medical marijuana can be used to treat a variety of chonic conditions that may not be treated with other medications.
